Dear Parents
I am very sorry to inform you that Mrs Lynne, who was one of our Year 3 Teachers until she left the School in May 2012, has sadly passed away after a very courageous fight against a serious form of cancer.
I received an email from Paul, her husband, on Friday informing me that she had died peacefully in her sleep with her family at her side. As Paul stated in his email: Lynne had put up an amazing fight, defying all the doctors' predictions. He then went on to say that I know Lynne would want me to pass on her thanks to you for all your support, not only during this last year but also throughout her time at Star. She loved teaching at Star and I know that she will take with her fantastic memories of her time with you.
Lynne was one of the original Team of Teachers who helped to open the School in 2008. Over her three years with us she made a huge contribution to making Star International School, Umm Sheif, so successful. We owe her a tremendous debt for her dedication and commitment.
Lynne was a very special Member of our School Community. She will be sadly missed by all those Children, Parents and Colleagues whose lives she touched.
The pain of loss will, of course, be most acutely borne by Lynne's husband, Paul, their children Matt and Claire, other Members of their Family and their circle of Friends. On behalf of the STAR Family I extend my condolences to all at this time of bereavement.
However, amidst this sadness we should not forget to celebrate and give thanks for Lynne and all she stood for during her lifetime.
Michael

This will be an informal evening of fun and enjoyment listening to
our children singing. Although there will be limited refreshments available, we will once again be enjoying the festivities outside on the oval in the format of a family picnic. Remember your hampers and blankets!
It is important that parents take responsibility for their children
throughout the evening.
We hope that you will be able to support this event, as we are sure
that this will be yet another evening to remember!
