Extra Curricular Activities
Well resourced activities with suitably qualified and experienced teachers / coaches, definitely provide each individual with a variety of challenges and experiences which positvely supplements Curriculum based learning. It is not just a 'question of sport' although we now compete competitively with our teams in organised leagues and tournaments, but maintaining a balance between academic pursuits and those which are aimed at improving socialisation and leadership skills.
There is no question that the high quality Extra Curricular Programme offered to all our children from Foundation to Secondary ages, significantly enhances the learning opportunities within Star International, Umm Sheif.
We are mindful that any Curriculum, regardless of how well constructed, is subject to time constraints. Our Extra Curricular Programme broadens possiblities for individuals to further develop their skill base in areas where they have a specific interest, aptitude and/or talent.
Internally provided activities are delivered by our own Staff member and are free of charge to our parents. External activities are delivered by a number of professional organisations who charge for their services. We feel that we have got the balance right and this is being proven by the large number of activities on offer and the percentage of places taken based on our current size. Ofcourse this bespoke programme will grow and evolve along with our school and we will continue to research new avenues for additional inclusion in the future.

SPRING HOLIDAY CAMPS 2013
- Elite Football Academy – offering an extensive multi-sports programme in our Sports Hall. Feel free to 'dip in and dip out' according to your holiday plans.
- Budo Juku – Martial Arts Easter Camp. Offering a selection of Karate, Kickboxing, Mixed Martial Arts. Again choose your own programme to suit your needs.
- Du Gym – Not just a Gymnastics Camp but also trampolining, rhythmic gymnastics, conditioning and gymnastic dance. Sunday – Wednesday also provides families with great flexibility.
- Du Dive - One and two hour sessions at the Sheikh Hamdam Complex, held by Tom Roberts, the UAE National Dive Coach.
- Iqids – Creative Expression and Team Building Games in classroom based and mini-sports activities.
